Dragonfly Royale Fundraiser Recap

This past weekend, the Dragonfly DGC was buzzing with activity as 91 disc golfers gathered for a tournament with a cause—The Dragonfly Royale 2024, a True Amateur event benefiting ElevateUT Disc Golf and Primary Children's Hospital. Cole De Witt and Jake Packer put their second successful tournament under their belts and raised a whopping $3,465 for the named charities.

91 players came out to support the cause and enjoyed a packed raffle: with a Zuca Cart, a basket and all sorts of other great items.

Jared Fager beat Aaron Detterer in a playoff to secure first place in MA1, while Houston Turner (MA3) had the hot round of the day with a -7 (57) first round.

It was also a notable event as it was the first tournament that played the red tees at the course. With most of the MA4 field shooting above par, the Red's seem well designed for the novice crew.

This event is the first of three fundraiser events to benefit ElevateUT Disc Golf this year. The Salt Lake City Tunnel Runners June 8th tournament at Valley Regional Park will be your next opportunity with another tournament in the works by ThirtyOut Productions.

These fundraiser tournaments are a fantastic way to not only raise money, but talk to people about what ElevateUT Disc Golf is doing.

This year, we rolled out the ElevateUT Disc Golf Impact Grant program, which puts money directly back into our courses. Additionally, ElevateUT Disc Golf has secured a partnership with TreeUtah to extend the irrigation and plant an additional 50 trees at the upcoming Draper Disc Golf Course.

We cannot do it without the support of our community. Your next opportunity is this Saturday when we descend onto Draper Disc Golf Course and MURDER THISTLE.
